Some of us have more than others. And when we do, it’s our job to help out when we can.
I came across this Facebook post today. Written by my closest childhood friend, it caught my eye right away. As some of you know, my husband is from the Berkshires. When we visit the Berkshires, it feels like a vacation. Beautiful landscapes and friendly coffee shops greet you at every turn. But not everyone gets to grow up and/or visit that version of the Berkshires…
“Driving from North Adams to Great Barrington last Friday, Michele Miller came across a group of very young children getting off the school bus and going into the Dug-Out Motel, a place far worse than even the name sounds. I later learned that they were being evicted after a teacher reported finding rat bites on one of the children. Today I spoke with the amazing Berkshire County Regional Housing Authority who is helping this family. They will be moving soon and need everything – bedding, furniture, food, clothes, gift cards, whatever you can spare. If you are interested everything can be dropped off at the BCRHA office at 7 Fenn Street, 4th Floor in Pittsfield, MA 01201 to the attention of Lauren Bolio.”
Here is the story.
Many of you have been talking about wanting to join the 26 acts of kindness campaign. Here’s your chance. This family needs a fresh start this holiday season. Just a little bit of kindness goes a very long way…
Here’s that address again:
Lauren Bolio – BCRHA 7 Fenn Street, 4th Floor, Pittsfield, MA 01201
Thank you, friends. I appreciate you.
